What is LOVE? by Dr. Rajiv Parti

Love is
when you are there, then the world is there; Nirvana—the ultimate bliss—is there.

Love is
when standing in the DMV line together, a couple has more fun than others have on their honeymoon.

Love is
when it’s like two different flavors of ice cream that want to melt together.

Love is
when one sleeps and the other, even with a sprained ankle, tiptoes so the other does not wake.

Love is
when being together is like the smell from the earth when it has been dry and now the first rain falls.

Love is
when, being together, time stops, and one feels that this is it, heaven.

Love is
when one’s heart skips a beat upon seeing the other.

Love is
when holding hands and running on the beach feels like being one with the universe.

Love is
when one feels: I am her, she is me.

Love is
when one happily gives up one’s personal desires for the other to be happy.

Love is
when one feels that on this journey called life, one’s soul mate has been found.

Love is
when holding hands feels like walking in spring in a garden of fresh flowers, surrounded by their sight and fragrance, and by the sound of birds singing.

Love is
when, in spite of all efforts, including those above, one gives up and says:

You are love personified. Otherwise, I cannot define it.
